MAYBURY WILL STAY OPEN!!!

As most of you know. Mom and I have been volunteering at this school in Detroit, Michigan for quite a few years now. 

Earlier this year we found out that The Detroit Public Schools decided that Maybury, along with 15 other city schools, would be closed this summer. We were all devastated! We signed petitions and tried to gather support in the community, but it seemed like a lost cause. Until Thursday, when it was announced that Maybury got a reprieve! Our school will stay open for AT LEAST another TWO YEARS! We are so happy for the kids, the teachers, and Ellen, the principal!!
