Nowadays it seems everywhere we turn, up pops another version of the KEEP CALM posters. Keep Calm and Dance On or Keep Calm and Eat Cake/Chocolate/Cupcakes even Pringles!! (Why am I always drawn to the food versions?). Anyway, basically we see posters, shirts, coffee mugs, Facebook posts, everything, with the words KEEP CALM and ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!
So, I thought I would do a quick look to see if I could find a KEEP CALM and hire a CABINET DESIGNER version. Surely I would be able to, right? I mean they have them for Interior Designers, Colour Experts, Stagers, Planners but would you believe nothing for us Cabinet Designers? Well, that was until now. You know, I couldn't let that happen so I created one!
I used our logo (the pillar) because, of course, when I think "Cabinet Designer", I think "Cabinet Studio". Don't you? ;) Then I thought it would be fun to make one specifically for our company! Here it is:
What do you think? Not bad for a Photoshop newbie, eh? Of course, with all of this Keep Calm business I started thinking about how it originated and wanted the whole story. I knew it was published by the U.K. government to boost morale during WWII, but why did it become so popular after all this time? So I did a little research and found out some neat info. Did you know that the KEEP CALM poster was actually only one in a series of three propaganda posters used?
Did you also know that it was developed in WWII but the public wasn't really made aware of it until it was found some 50 years later by a couple who owned a bookstore in London? They look like a sweet older couple too!
Check out this short video that explains the whole story:
Wasn't that interesting? Well, that is it for today. I hope you enjoyed our little history lesson and remember KEEP CALM and hire the CABINET STUDIO! :)
