Welcome to My Boring Home...

Monday, we shared with you a great quote about the importance of creating an interesting/eye-catching entryway, comparing it to the opening chapter of a book.
As soon as your guest opens your front door and walks into your home they are instantly filled with some sort of emotion that your house, more specifically your entryway, gave them.

How do you want your guests to feel when they first walk in? How do you want them to judge you? Let's not be naive, they will be judging you based on their first impression. Maybe not intentionally, and maybe not significantly, but they will be making up their opinion about "how you live".

Let's play the "who lives here" game! Check out the entryways below and imagine who owns that home. Can you relate to them?
Gosh, tell us how you really feel! :)
This unit gets an A- from me. The sconces are throwing me off a bit but as you all know, I am always drawn to design that includes apothecary drawers. Also, the rotating door is a great idea! Easily accessed and easily concealed! Now, I wonder if the owner of the leopard umbrella wears those boots at the same time.
As you know, another favourite design element of mine is mirror. Very well done here! If this doesn't scream elegance, I don't know what does. Who do you picture that lives here?
Layering isn't just for keeping warm in the winter! Layering different textures and patterns can create a very interesting focal wall. But be careful that you layer properly. You don't want your guests to know that you are a hoarder as soon as they walk in, do you?

We all know why I love this one and how about that door?

A really quick fix to spruce up your monotone entryway is by using fresh flowers! ... or fabulous frauds :)

Sure, your guests probably won't come in and lay out on this couch and ask for some popcorn, but it certainly does have a welcoming feel to it, doesn't it?

Now, don't judge these people. This is obviously just their "starter home". :)

So, what is your entryway saying about how you live?
