Betsy Ross Kitchen Before and After Photos

BEFORE and AFTER KITCHEN PHOTOS

This is the home of a past client that decided to downsize. When she bought this little bungalow she knew she wanted to call us to give some TLC to the kitchen like we did in her original home!

This is what the kitchen looked like when we were first invited into our clients home...

We will let the after pictures speak for themselves...

The cabinetry is not only beautiful but very functional.

Check out these amenities included to organize the space and save the cook time and frustration...

Tilt-Out Soap Tray... or as Leigh likes to call it, her jewelry tray. A great space to store rings while using the (durable, stylish Silgranit) sink.

Spice and Oil Pull-Out. With an adjustable middle shelf it's great even for your big Costco oils.

With limited space in this kitchen we decided to expand the utensil drawer so it could house not only her cutlery but her larger cooking utensils as well.

One of our favourite custom pieces in this kitchen was the old broom closet that was converted into a pretty pantry/hutch area over top of the stairs. We have a video describing this a bit better. Here is the before...

...and here is what it looks like now...

We included custom drawers that followed the lines of the stairwell ceiling, which was otherwise wasted space. Also, note the custom tray dividers above the fridge.

Mosaic Monday: Jet Set Patterns by WZ

Mosaic Monday: Jet Set Patterns by WZ

Each week we share with you a mosaic of fun backsplash options to help update your kitchen! This week's choices were so fun and we loved the theme so much we thought we would re-post WZ's blogpost about these new patterns!

Jet set

— jet–set adjective

— jet–set·ter noun

— jet–set·ting adjective

A fashionable social set composed of wealthy people who travel frequently by jetliner to parties and resorts.

Origin:
1950–55

We celebrate the Jet Set with our newest collection of marble tile mosaics of the same name. The collection of luxurious marble patterns recalls the glamorous 1950’s and 60’s when the rich and famous hop scotched across the globe, following the good life from St. Tropez to Palm Springs. The villas were stylish, the women beautiful, the men handsome, the pools sparkling blue and the champagne always flowed.

Come with us and be swept away to a time when flight attendants were called Stewardesses, Mai Tai’s were the drink of choice, and everything sounded better when Frank sang it. Grab your suitcase and hop on board, you won’t even need a boarding pass!

This isn't the "poolside" WZ had in mind but it is what reminded me of the tile!

Backsplash is one of the easiest ways to add a taste of your personality to your kitchen and update the space in a flash.  If your cabinetry is in good condition you can still give us a ring and we will be happy to help you make the right choices for backsplash and countertops! :)

Make it a great day with great design!

Colourful Home

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!

(Or in this case by it's simple white curb appeal)

Traditional Exterior design by New York Photographer Rikki Snyder

This 1751 home was a blank canvas for Kristin and Mark Nicholas. It was originally painted in simple whites and pastels and Kristin has spent the past 14 years on the inside, layering on brushstrokes in vivid colours. A working artist known for her knit, crochet and stitchery designs, Kristin has made their home a true reflection of her talent and spirit! "There isn't a room left that's how we found it," she says.

Wait until you see some of the rooms where she has

"worked her magic".

What do you think about all of these rooms? Would you be so daring as to do any of this to your house? We would love for you to share your thoughts with us on Facebook!

Let us share with you a few of our highlights from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show this year in Chicago!

Here we are all registered and ready to take on KBIS 2012!

As most of you know, our designs are all about helping organize YOUR space so you can get on to what's most important to you.

We just loved this tinfoil/wax paper cutting insert! So sleek!

Look at the top of this bi-fold door. Isn't that sweet? I wish we took a picture of it closed so you could see how pretty it was! This unit was also on the Servo-Drive which means it goes up and comes down with just the tap of your finger!

These were water feature tables that were positioned around the show for us to relax for a moment between booths! So cool!

Love this drawer insert! Perfect for your bar area! Cheers!

I wish I had video of the demonstration using this incredible multi-purpose sink! By far my favourite product on the floor!
All dressed up and on our way to the Merchandise Mart!

At the Mart, ready for some wine and shmoozing! :)

This is the only picture of product that I took while at the Mart. Oops! What a statement though!! Loved this tile work!!! As I've mentioned before, gold is making it's way back, both in fashion and our home decor!

What a fabulous view as we leave The Mart and catch our cab.

I just love this city!

Day Two Begins! I had to come back to take this picture the second day because the first day we saw it during the Cambria Designer Party and it was just too crowded to take pictures of anything! Aberdeen Cambria Countertop! I do love this colour, and what a sweet little piece, don't ya think?

I would like to think that this display was to show us what "not to do" in kitchen design...but sadly, it was one company showing off their best work. Scale can make or break any design!

The picture didn't really capture the colour, but this is a Wolf oven that is black outside and a beautiful blue inside! So sharp!

This product by Wolf is not out on the market yet. This is the first fully stainless touchpad on the market. What a sleek design!

Can't wait for it to "come out"!

The king of all refrigerators!! This is by Sub-Zero! This deserves a place in the middle of the kitchen! :) Look at even just the legs!

It is fully stainless steel! All of the interior, shelves, trays, everything!

It is simply gorgeous!

This was a tiny booth that was jam packed with some of my favourite lighting! It was a fun little find at the back of the show as we were on our way to a class off there to the left!

I'm on the fence about this design. How do you feel about it?

I like elements of it, but again, the scale is throwing me off.

 Do you remember Emily?

Season five champion from Design Star?

We met her the last day at an HGTV meet and greet event that they put on for about 100-150 of us in the profession to thank us for all of the work we do! It was a fun way to finish off the show!

Now, the countdown begins for KBIS'13 in New Orleans!!!
